After much procrastination, I finally gave the Suckers a spin this week – namely, “Black Sheep”, the first single from the band’s forthcoming debut LP, Wild Smile.  If this is any indication of what to expect from that album, I’m probably gonna love the shit out of it.  “Black Sheep” is a manic shot of prickly post-punk urgency and glam-rock pomposity.  I hear bits of Wolf Parade, Modest Mouse and TV on the Radio – the last mainly because singer Quinn Walker’s guttural falsetto is a dead ringer for Tunde Adebimpe.

Wild Smile is out 6/8 on Frenchkiss.
